Hi, I’m Torgeir.
I am a Clinical Psychologist with over 20 years of experience helping individuals navigate the profound and often quiet complexities of mental health. Throughout my career, I have worked across diverse clinical settings, refining an approach that is both evidence-based and deeply attuned to the unique needs of every person I meet. I see therapy as a collaborative partnership—a space where we can untangle difficult patterns and build the resilience needed for a more authentic life. Whether you are seeking relief from a specific crisis or looking to understand yourself more deeply, I am here to offer a practical, evidence-based path forward that respects your pace and focuses on achieving tangible improvements in your daily life.
Experience
Originally from Norway, I have called Australia home for the past two decades. My passion for understanding the human mind and helping others thrive led me to pursue extensive academic training.
For most of my career, I have worked in tertiary settings, providing support to young adults (18+) as they navigate the complexities of identity, relationships, academic pressures, and mental health challenges. I have also worked extensively with adults in different life stages, helping them overcome personal struggles, build resilience, and develop meaningful, fulfilling lives. In addition to my work in universities and clinical settings, I have a private practice where I tailor evidence-based therapies to each individual’s unique needs.
My approach is compassionate, practical, and deeply rooted in scientific research. I believe that therapy should be a collaborative process—one that empowers people with the tools to face life’s challenges while fostering self-awareness and personal growth. Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of working with individuals from diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds, gaining invaluable insights into the vast spectrum of human experience. This has only strengthened my commitment to providing inclusive, culturally sensitive care that respects each person’s unique perspective and values.
